Good to Know Before You Go – Misty Mountains & Wonders of the Wild

Arrival & Transfers:
Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by a Wonderscape Ceylon representative. We handle all hotel transfers, so you can begin your journey stress-free.

Cultural Etiquette:
You’ll be visiting sacred temples such as the Temple of the Tooth Relic and Dambulla Cave Temple. Please dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered), and remove shoes before entering. Carry a light scarf or shawl for convenience.

Weather & Clothing:
Expect warm and tropical weather in coastal and cultural areas, and cooler temperatures in the hill country (especially Nuwara Eliya and Ella). Bring light, breathable clothes, a jacket or sweater for the highlands, and comfortable shoes for walking and temple visits.

Train Journey:
The scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella is a highlight of the trip. Please note that seating classes and schedules may vary depending on availability, and trains can sometimes be delayed. It’s all part of the authentic Sri Lankan experience!

Wildlife Safari (Yala):
Your Yala National Park safari will be in an open 4×4 jeep provided by the park. These vehicles are not air-conditioned and have basic insurance. Wildlife sightings (like leopards and elephants) are not guaranteed but are highly likely, especially in the dry season.

Optional Activities:
Several stops offer optional experiences like a Muthurajawela Lagoon boat ride, tea factory visit, or Minneriya jeep safari. These may incur an additional cost and are subject to availability. Let us know your preferences in advance for smooth arrangements.
