From nesting turtles under the moonlight to elephants by the lagoon and coral reefs beneath the waves. This tour is made for travelers who love the coast and care for the wild.

Coastal Wildlife Trail is an 8-day journey that connects you with the diverse marine and coastal ecosystems of Sri Lanka, while giving you space to breathe, explore, and reconnect with nature. You’ll walk beaches protected by turtle conservationists in Rekawa, go on safari in Yala National Park to witness elephants and leopards in their natural habitat, and dive into the waters of Trincomalee for coral reefs, dolphins, and perhaps a glimpse of a blue whale.

In between, you’ll unwind on palm-lined shores, enjoy authentic Sri Lankan meals, and have time for yoga, swimming, or silent walks along the sand.

Each experience is guided with care — respecting both nature and the communities that protect it.

Good to Know Before You Go – Coastal Wildlife Trail

Turtle Watching (Rekawa):
Turtle nesting is a seasonal and natural occurrence, best observed from November to April. The experience takes place at night under the guidance of conservationists. Flash photography and loud noise are discouraged to protect the turtles.

Yala Safari Information:
Yala National Park safaris are conducted in 4×4 open jeeps provided by the park. These vehicles are not air-conditioned and come with basic insurance. Morning safaris offer the best chances for wildlife sightings, though they cannot be guaranteed.

Marine Activities (Trincomalee):
Snorkeling at Pigeon Island and whale watching (March–August) are weather-dependent. If sea conditions are rough, we will arrange suitable alternatives. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a dry bag for your gear.

Cultural Sites & Temples:
Visits to spiritual sites like Koneswaram Temple require modest dress (shoulders and knees covered). Remove shoes before entering. A lightweight scarf or wrap is handy for temple visits.

Accommodation Comfort:
Eco-lodges and nature-focused resorts offer sustainable and authentic hospitality. Expect fan-cooled or naturally ventilated rooms, and unique stays surrounded by forest, beaches, or coastal beauty.

Hotel Check-In/Check-Out:
Check-in: From 12:00 PM
Check-out: By 11:00 AM
Early check-ins or late check-outs can be arranged on request (subject to availability).

Packing Essentials:

  • Breathable clothing, swimwear, walking sandals
  • Sunhat, reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent
  • Lightweight scarf for temple visits
