DAY 01 - ARRIVAL ➜ NEGOMBO

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your Wonderscape Ceylon representative.

DAY 02 - NEGOMBO ➜ WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK

Good to Know Before You Go – Wild Ceylon Explorer

Wildlife Safaris:
This tour includes safaris in Wilpattu, Minneriya/Kaudulla, Udawalawe, and Yala. All safaris are conducted in open 4×4 jeeps with basic insurance. Wildlife sightings (including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, and birds) are likely but not guaranteed due to the natural setting.

National Park Guidelines:
Follow your naturalist guide’s instructions, remain quiet during wildlife sightings, and avoid flash photography. Park entry times and rules may vary by season and weather.

Fitness & Hiking:
Light hiking is included at Horton Plains, Ella, and Sigiriya. Moderate fitness and sturdy walking shoes are recommended. The train ride to Ella offers seated relaxation with stunning views.

Weather & Packing Tips:
Sri Lanka’s climate varies — expect warm coastal days, cooler highland mornings, and occasional rain. Bring:

  • Lightweight layers
  • A waterproof jacket

Train Ride:
The Nanu Oya to Ella ride is scenic but may be delayed. Seating varies based on availability. It’s a slow but rewarding experience.
